4337 Travis Street

What an exceptional opportunity to live in one of these gorgeous modern townhomes designed by Lionel Morrison. The architect, which has a fondness for minimalistic modern design that pairs metal and natural materials seamlessly, has designed amazing Dallas homes and landmarks, including this light and bright mansion on Northaven Road, One Arts Plaza, and many more.

We’ve featured one of these incredible Travis Street townhomes before as a Monday Morning Millionaire, and today’s Lease of the Week is just as fabulous as that home, only it doesn’t have a rooftop deck. Still, it’s a beautiful home in an amazing location with everything your modern-loving heart desires. Located at 4337 Travis Street, you can rent this gorgeous concrete, glass, and steel beauty marketed by Rogers Healy himself for $9,000 a month.

Wes Lewis GWHL Featured Realtor

Wes Lewis is such a hoot! This young Realtor has joined up with Rogers Healy and has completely taken off. Not only does Lewis have a fantastic sense of humor, but he also has excellent taste when it comes to design. He offers tips and tricks on his blog and to his clients. And get this — this Uptown Dallas agent often rides a Segway to showings! Never heard of that before!

Originality and flexibility are two traits you want in a Realtor, which is why he is this week’s Great Western Home Loans Featured Realtor, sponsored by Jeff Lindigrin. Jeff takes great care as a lender, as he should.

Of course, every sale should have a lender that works just as hard to get a great deal as their Realtor. What has your lender done for you lately? Find out what you’re missing by contacting Jeff Lindigrin with Great Western Home Loans today.

Talk about some dirt! Fox Business host Gerri Willis of “The Willis Report” had super hot broker Rogers Healy on her show yesterday after news broke that a New Jersey couple is suing their Realtor for using their home for a love nest while it was listed.

Healy offered some tips for homeowners on screening Realtors, noting that this sort of thing is extremely rare.

Some interesting notes from Healy’s interview:

– You can make sure your Realtor is on the up-and-up by calling your local Realtor board and checking into their status. You can also look up their license and standing with your state’s real estate commission.

– Wary of opening your home to a bunch strangers for open houses? Healy says they’re not really necessary anymore, as 90 percent of homebuyers are shopping online. That’s good news, since open houses have been known to attract jewelry and drug thieves.

– To make sure only serious buyers view your property, make sure buyer’s agents have their clients pre-qualify before they step foot in your home.

San Medina Front

I know I harp a lot about what’s going on in East Dallas, but you just cannot deny that this area has some serious potential, with great growth, excellent prices, and an upward demographic of young professionals and growing families.

San Medina Living

This week’s house is in Casa View Haven at 2245 San Medina. Listed with Rogers Healy and Associates agent Carissa Lair, this incredibly cute three-bedroom, one-bath home is priced to sell at $139,000. The sellers, who are planning to expand their family, are so sad to leave this neighborhood. I can see why — the Casa View Haven Neighborhood Association is the prime reason this area was named one of the best places to buy a home by The Dallas Morning News.

San Medina Dining

I love this little area of Dallas, so much so, in fact, that I moved here! There are wonderful people, great location, good value, and adorable post-war traditional homes. This house at 2245 San Medina is in fantastic shape with gorgeous wood floors and tons of updates. The bathroom, though, is all original. I am not a fan of most 1950s bathroom tile color schemes, but this one, I love! The green/dark green tile is just adorable, and in great shape, too.

San Medina Kitchen

I think the kitchen is cute, too, especially with the breakfast bar added to the island. Sure, the huge refrigerator makes the area seem small, but surely you can scale it down and make this kitchen great for serving up small crowds!

San Medina Master San Medina Bath

The backyard is spacious and green, just a real family-friendly oasis from your short commute — about 15 minutes to downtown. And if you want more space to run around, you’re less than a mile from White Rock Lake.

So what do you think, is this a value or what?

Thursday Three Hundred: Lakewood For Less Than $350K? Yes, Please!

From the street, 6319 Velasco Avenue looks like another great Lakewood home.

Lakewood is hot. But, dearest Dirt-o-phile, you already knew that. Homes are under contract before they hit MLS in some cases, and in others, they’re sold within weeks of listing.

But sometimes you can find a deal where no one else is looking. That’s the case with 6319 Velasco from our fine friends at Rogers Healy and Associates. Maybe, on the other hand, it’s a deal because the bathrooms are problem areas. I wouldn’t be able to tell, though, because the listing for this home doesn’t have a photo of either of the two baths in this quaint, 2,056-square-foot home with three bedrooms. It’s kind of a pet peeve of mine.

The listing does boast “original details,” such as a telephone nook and stained glass. Methinks the cupboards inside the “country kitchen” might need a little sprucing up, though. Unless you’re into wood paneling. The apron sink is a keeper, though!

Otherwise, it’s exactly what you’d expect from a Lakewood traditional: archways, trees, and tons of charm. And the price just went down, too, to the tune of $5,100. Sounds like a steal to me!
