Thursday Three Hundred: Renovated Midcentury Ranch in Midway Hollow

Green Terrace Front

I am seeing a lot of 1960s ranches lately that have interesting Midcentury Modern details. They have tons of charm and contemporary character, but none of the flat roofs and linear exterior details that we’d expect from a true Mid-Mod.

Green Terrace Dining

This house, a renovated ranch in Midway Hollow, is a perfect example of what I’m seeing lately. At 9450 Green Terrace you’ll find an adorable one-story that is just perfection. I love pretty much everything these sellers have done, from the gorgeous French doors in the living room, the high-gloss kitchen cabinets and concrete floors, the beautiful master bath, to the fabulous wallpapered accent wall in the dining room.

Green Terrace Living

This gorgeous Greenill Park home has formal living and dining rooms, two bedrooms, and two baths with 1,676 square feet and a two-car garage. If you’re not in love with this house already (and really, why wouldn’t you be?) you’ll just adore the backyard, which is manicured to perfection with an amazing back porch. It’s the cherry on top for this house, making it a great home for someone who loves to host parties.

Green Terrace Kitchen

Now the kitchen might be my favorite part of the home. I love that the sellers went with a butcher-block counter rather than the typical granite, because it really sets off the high-gloss white cabinets and high-end stainless appliances. The pendant lighting over the eat-in breakfast bar complements the kitchen perfectly, too.

Green Terrace Master Green Terrace Master Bath

With all of these incredible details, and an amazing location, this home is an absolute deal at $310,000. I am sure Virginia Cook agent Annette Rivera knows that, so if you head over to this amazing ranch for its open house on July 21, get ready to put in an offer!

Green Terrace Backyard

Another beautiful home that just makes me DROOL hit MLS at 10 a.m. this morning, and I cannot wait ’til Friday to show it to you. I’m like a kid who gets a toy and has to unwrap it in the car: I can’t wait ’till I get home with this one. 7014 Duffield is a 3725 square foot beauty with TWO wet bars set on about a half acre creek lot with its own island and great fishing right in the backyard. No, it is not in outer Timbuktu: try North Dallas near Campbell and Frankfurt Frankford. Built in 1978, the home was recently remodeled by an architectural designer, sparing no expense (as the owner’s husband laments) with soaring ceilings, beautiful natural maple wood flooring, and walls of windows for natural light.  I have to say, that remodel was worth every single penny. The home is stunning and when have you seen a kitchen in North Dallas with a custom built-in breakfast nook with benches like this? In fact, there are so many built-ins in this home, you will save thousands on furniture you do not have to buy. The kitchen is pure white with clean-lined cabinets and pure Corian countertops.

The main living area features a gorgeous stone fireplace with firepit glass and a wall of built-ins. The updated master rivals those in million dollar plus homes: huge walk-in closet and a fabulous spa bath retreat with separate shower, tub and something you won’t even find in million dollar plus homes, a redwood sauna.

Like I said, SPA!

Upstairs is a guest retreat or teenager suite with a large living area, tons more of built-ins, and a second wet bar. Also a separate bedroom and updated bath on the 2nd level. Four bedrooms total, three and a half baths, two car garage, pier and beam. You won’t believe the backyard: more like an oasis with huge, mature trees on a private creek with professionally landscaped grounds. If you are looking for move-in ready, go ahead, get your nails done, you will not even need a bottle of Windex, this home is so clean.

If you are looking for Plano schools and a nearby playground, this home is for you. I cannot believe they are only asking $425,000 considering all the upgrades and renovation that’s been done on this puppy. Brand spanking new to the market. Shall we wager how long before she is snapped up?

This soft soft contemporary at 6951 Forest Glade Circle proves how well you can live in Dallas for half a million dollars. Very private street right off Hillcrest just south of Royal — you may have to tip the Dominoes guy a little more when he finally finds your door. Otherwise, you will love the serenity of this setting. (This home is also a great example of why North Dallas living is so great — you have space around you, and greenery!) Herringbone patterned wood floors, open & bright floor plan with tall ceilings, this 3596 square foot home is a great size and was built in 1970. You know what I think? Downsizing Boomer. I’ll be honest: I’d re-do the circa 2000 kitchen. But do not touch the first floor master bedroom & bath renovated, beautifully renovated, in 2009. Two more bedrooms on the first floor with Jack and Jill bath, and bedroom number four is upstairs. Four bedrooms total, and four baths. Lush foliage & pretty fountain can be viewed from most rooms. Steps from a beautiful creek that has all the benefits of creek views but is far enough away to skip the nasties — like critters!

Got you in under $500K this week: Forest Glade is on the market for $499,500, which is, I think, a pretty fair price. Do you?

I'm over the all-white kitchen, you?

Great place for cocktails

That House I Said Was Better Than Sex? It Has A Contract. Already.

I mean it’s like no foreplay! This home went on the market, what, September 3 and there’s already a contract! More than 300 through two open-houses. Do you think the contract is for asking? Ten percent under? This ought to be fun, let’s guess!
