Seriously, do not miss this story from the impeccable Deidre Woollard over on SecondShelters.com. She tells us about the former Aspen home of Paula Zahn and Richard Cohen in Aspen. It’s a retreat so amazing that it oozes style and magic.

Zahn and Cohen remodeled the home down to the studs in 2003. Interior designer David Easton designed this modern homage to Aspen living, using  his custom furnishings, carpets and fabrics, wall coverings, cabinetry and hardware. Easton is more generally known for his classic style but for this home his style was refined into a contemporary showcase for art and an understated elegance.

And it is breathtaking. See all of the photos of this gorgeous home on SecondShelters.com

Candy told you last week that this incredible Highland Park home on Normandy owned by none other than former Dallas Cowboy star quarterback Troy Aikman was listed with Allie Beth Allman for $5.3 million. Well, they’ve bumped that price up a bit to perhaps narrow the field of bidders, and now you can own this gorgeous Tatum Brown Custom Home on one of Highland Park’s most sought-after streets for $5.95 million.

(Editor’s Note: We originally published a version of this story last year, but since D’Andra and Jeremy are graciously opening the doors of their beautiful Lindenwood contemporary again for the Friday, Dec. 5 ABPA Homes for the Holidays Home Tour, we decided to take another look at this lovely home!)

D’Andra Simmons hopes you’ll get a glimpse at her and Jeremy Lock’s personalities when you tour their incredibly chic Highland Park contemporary during the Armstrong Bradfield Preschool Association Homes for the Holidays Home Tour.

The eclectic two-story modern has an open floorplan with a global vibe injected with a shot of old-Hollywood glamour. And Simmons, founder of the Hard Night Good Morning line of cosmetics, knows a thing or two about glamour. The 6,600-square-foot home is both a home base and a showcase for these two world travelers. Lock is an award-winning war photographer, and Simmons, who admits she feels more relaxed on safari in Africa than anywhere else, have assembled their collections in a way that reflects their travels and tastes.

Deion Sanders: A Week of Dallas Real Estate History

DCIM100MEDIA

From Highland Park where we learned that the Trammell Crow family homestead is being listed for a shocking $59.4 million, way on up to Proposer where  Concierge Auctions made Deion Sanders’ former home going going gone for $3.75 million. Here are all the photos of Deion’s former Prosper pad, as shot by those great folks at Shoot2Sell photographers. Kind of sad to think that a legend lived here, kind of cool to think of what the new owners have in store.

Deion Sanders Ext

We have confirmed that in a deal put together by Dallas developer Don Silverman, the great Deion Sanders has sold his 10-bedroom Prosper mansion and 82 acres at 1280 North Preston Road. This comes after news broke last week that Texas Education Agency plans to revoke the charter for Sanders’ Prime Prep Academy due to financial mismanagement, and a messy divorce from wife Pilar Sanders, who has apparently jumped the shark.

But then, apparently today, Prime Prep Academy’s board is supposed to debate and maybe vote on authorizing the rehiring of Sanders, who co-founded the school, as athletic director.

According to news reports:

“The former NFL star, who loaned his Prime Time nickname to the school, was fired, rehired and fired again within a couple of months late last year. The first firing came after he was accused of assaulting the school’s chief financial officer during a staff meeting. No explanation was given for the second dismissal.”

Honestly, I cannot keep up with this drama. Maybe Deion and his girlfriend, Tracey Edmonds, just needed to be done with that Prosper albatross and make a new nest. After all, he still owns a $4.8 million penthouse at The Azure …

6511 Mimosa Lane extUpdate, August 28, 7:15 pm: Turns out Rhonda doesn’t live next door anymore!

Finally, someone will maybe actually move in!

This beautiful stone Preston Hollow manor was built in 2007, purchased in 2010 and really, honestly, never lived in. The owners live in a foreign country and bought the home for a “someday escape” to the U.S. that never materialized. So it’s like getting a brand new home that belies it’s seven years plus, of course, a big huge plus: there is a very famous neighbor next door. (more…)

2935 Magnolis Hill CourtWhoa, this is one of those units that deserves the “O” word. Or maybe I should say, the “A” word. This is the Uptown loft of Arizona Diamondback right-handed pitcher Brandon McCarthy and his wife, Amanda.

Brandon McCarthyAnd the agent, darling Nancy Dunning at Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s, is not using broker babble when she says “one of a kind”. Nancy knows of what she speaks! McCarthy is said to earn in excess of $10,000,000 a year so money was not only no option, it wasn’t even a dream when they decked out this place. (more…)

CP7A2115-EditThis is a home I have waited to see with bated breath. Hunter and Kandi Mahan spent more than two years painstakingly building this near-perfection home on one gorgeous acre in the Creeks of Preston Hollow.

I first told you about it two years ago, when Hunter was selling his bachelor pad in Colleyville, shortly after he married the beautifully darling Kandi. The two proceeded to hire Mark Molthan to create a love pad and create they did. Oh, did they create. It’s family time now, so their current home is on the market, listed with Cameron H. Holland, for $9,500,000. Frankly, I think it’s a steal, and you are about to see why. (more…)
