Fannin Terrace Midcentury Ranch Hits All the High Points

Chris Beckett and Pine & Beckett Realtors is not kidding around — this 1959 Midcentury Ranch in Fannin Terrace is indeed “hip of the hip,” making it the perfect pick for our Thursday Three Hundred for the week.

This three-bedroom, two-bath home at 2503 Terrace Ave. in the Fannin Terrace neighborhood of Midland has everything you look for in midcentury architecture — high ceilings, custom shelving, tons of windows and transoms, and, Beckett said, “original brass inlay Terrazzo floors.” (more…)

Adorable Old Midland Abode A Quick Walk to the Park, Duck Pond

When we looked for this week’s Thursday Three Hundred, we were hooked in a hot minute when we saw this adorable Old Midland home that is part Spanish, part midcentury modern in style, and deceptively spacious inside, too.

Within walking distance of Hill Park and the duck pond, this five-bedroom, two-bath, 3,215-square-foot home on a corner lot is ideally situated in Old Midland, but with a backyard that’s private enough to feel like you’ve got a retreat. (more…)

Adorable New Traditional Tudor Showcases Updated Charm

tudorWhen we saw this 1947 New Traditional Tudor cottage this week, we knew it had to be our next Thursday Three Hundred. Full of fresh updates inside and out, it’s got the charm of an older home, but the finishes of something far more modern.

Listed by Kerri Payne with The Victoria Printz Team Realtors, this 2,267 square foot home has three bedrooms and two baths.

The home, 722 W. Kansas St., is located in the Country Club Heights neighborhood of Old Midland. You can tell from the curb that the owners have put some serious thought into Midland weather and life — the corner lot is xeriscaped for low maintenance and low water demand, and the porch just looks 10 degrees cooler and is begging for some adorable seating. Historic Property Offers Unique Opportunity in North Oak Cliff

1031 N. Madison Living

Happy Thanksgiving! Looking for something to be grateful for? Here at CandysDirt.com we’re absolutely grateful for the amazing deals you can still find in Dallas, especially in North Oak Cliff. This area of Dallas is super hot, and it’s difficult to find a deal thats in good shape. But we’ve found a great candidate for someone who wants a home with character and history. It’s a listing with Jenni Stolarski, a Realtor with Briggs Freeman who knows a good investment when she sees one. Stolarski says this home at 1031 N. Madison has views of downtown Dallas from the front porch! Now that’s a selling point if there ever was one.

70s Contemporary With a Transitional Facelift in Richardson ISD

13016 Fall Manor Front
When Brittney Warren, a dynamo of a Realtor with Rogers Healy and Associates, told me about this updated 1970s contemporary inside Richardson ISD, I found it hard to believe the price: $319,900.
That’s a rare bird if anything, to find a home in this area at that price. But to see one that is updated, open, and has a lovely pool in the backyard is a fantastic find!

Original Bath Plus Beautiful Updates in This University Terrace Ranch

7309 Bennington Front

University Terrace is so hot right now. This is the affordable Lakewood area, where you can get inside Lakewood Elementary’s attendance area in the $300K range. Most other neighborhoods that feed into Lakewood are going for $400K plus! Here, though, the lots are generous, the homes are somewhat newer (1950s and 60s as opposed to 30s and 40s), and you’re close to the lake and within walking distance of the White Rock Lake DART station.

I had a friend who lived off of Clemson in University Terrace and I loved the neighborhood from the moment I saw it. It’s one of those places that is perfect for families, is close to shopping (Medallion Center is just down Northwest Highway) and yet, it still has a great urban feel. A lot of the homes have been updated, but you can find some in near-original condition. If you want a home that is move-in ready, take heart that you wont need to do anything to this beauty at 7309 Bennington Drive.
